United KingdomREFERENCE (study and evaluation of the uses of multimedia in training and the conditions for its effectiveness) is a project funded by the LEONARDO da Vinci programme of Directorate General XXII Education, Training and Youth in the context of Lifelong Learning. The aim of the project is to collect and disseminate information about the most significant experiences of using multimedia product within training.With the objective of disseminating skills in the productive use of multimedia, a first book brings together case studies from four European Countries, Germany, France, Italy and the United KingdomThe aim of this work is to show that the new information and communications technologies can assist in the evolution of training systems and practices and can open up access to training to target groups who have difficulty participating in traditional training courses, especially such target groups as employees of SMEs and disadvantaged groups. In parallel with this work an Internet site has been established to disseminate the results of the research, to facilitate contact between interested professionals and to stimulate comments, exchanges and new accounts of cases identified (http://www.odl.org). |
